Holder and I had a Valentine's Day date at Chuck E. Cheese Pizza. It was actually the first time I enjoyed being there. It wasn't as loud and obnoxious as it often can be with all the kid's parties going on. Holder got 80 tokens to spend and he blew right through them. He doesn't like playing any skill games. He goes straight for the game that you feed tokens and will definitely win tickets. He managed to get 347 tickets that night!
Anyone who has ever been to the ticket counter with a child knows how long it can take to decide what precious items they are going to "purchase" with their tickets. Time seems to drag as the child repeatedly asks if they can get an item which is inevitably out of the ticket price range. I always marvel at the patience of that teenager behind the counter.
Holder is a generous child. He loves getting rings to give to the women in his family. I received a beautiful "diamond encrusted" dollar sign ring. But Holder couldn't stop at just one, he got two! And so here we are sporting our new Bling!

This Valentine's Day will be the one I can claim as when I discovered how to celebrate with loved ones and not have to wait in line for a restaurant table.
It was great driving down Bay Area Blvd. and feeling smug as Debbie and I passed restaurant after restaurant with filled to capacity parking lots and lines of hungry sweethearts waiting for the next available table.
Chuck-e-Cheese was great! What a treat, pepperoni pizza, salad bar and a beverage. No lines, people I love and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert.
